Could the New England Patriots trade for a 25-year-old Pro Bowler this offseason?
The New England Patriots have been named a top trade landing spot for a 25-year-old Pro Bowler.
NFL analyst Moe Moton of Bleacher Report believes the Patriots should trade for Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts.
Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham hasn't ruled out the possibility of trading Pitts, who is set to play for the Falcons in 2026 under the franchise tag.
“It’s my job as the general manager to do what’s best for the organization,” Cunningham said at the annual NFL meeting. "Kyle is a great player. We’ve seen his skill set. Also, it’s my job to listen. We’re excited to have Kyle. We’re excited for his future.”
Pitts, who will make $15 million next season, had 928 receiving yards and a career-best five touchdowns in 2025. He projects to be a great fit for Patriots star Drake Maye, one of the best QBs in the NFL.
A one-time Pro Bowler, Pitts has 284 receptions for 3,579 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns in his career. He was the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
New England parted ways with Stefon Diggs and signed Romeo Doubs this offseason. Adding Pitts to Josh McDaniels' offense would make the Patriots more dangerous.
Despite losing to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl, New England has a bright future with Maye leading the way. After all, Maye was second in MVP voting last season and he's already one of the best players in the league while being on his rookie contract.
Maye finished the 2025 regular season with 4,394 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns while completing 72.0% of his passes. He lost the MVP Award to Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford.
Most people around the NFL believe the Falcons will trade Pitts this offseason. If the Patriots don't trade for Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown, they should take a look at Pitts.
