A big turnout for the Patriots' voluntary training exercises is always a good sign.
Just like that, the NFL offseason is over. The New England Patriots started their 2026 offseason workout program on Monday in Foxborough. The workouts took place at their brand-new New Balance facilities, a building that has been generating some buzz all offseason ahead of its official opening.
There is limited information out there about who took part in the first of many team exercises set to gear the players up for this upcoming regular season. Still, if you look at the Patriots' socials and website, you can get a glimpse of who made an appearance this week.
From the looks of it, a total of 62 players took part in Monday's voluntary workout. It's a number very close to the Patriots' current 71-man roster.
On the roster, some recognizable faces were seen showing up for training. Players like Drake Maye and Will Campbell were seen arriving at Gillette Stadium together on Monday. Other notable mentions, like running back TreVeyon Henderson, took part even in the midst of some online drama he caught himself in the middle of. Tight end Hunter Henry, defensive tackle Milton Williams, and newly extended backup quarterback Tommy DeVito.
Some new team members also took part in the voluntary workout. Free agent signees like wide receiver Romeo Doubs, edge rusher Dre'Mont Jones, and guard Alijah Vera-Tucker.
Cornerback Christian Gonzalez was also in attendance despite contract extension talks that the media seems to wonder about regularly. Regardless, the Patriots' star cornerback is still under contract this year.
Visibly absent was wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, who has found himself in trade rumors ever since the NFL insider Adam Schefter announced that it's highly likely the team will acquire wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles after June 1st.
Boutte posted a photo to his Instagram stories down in Miami amid the rumors, as voluntary offseason training began.
This initial phase of workouts lasts for the next two weeks at the Patriots' facilities. Frank Piraino, the Patriots' director of sports performance, governs it.
These exercise programs are solely based on strength and conditioning work. What follows will be in mid-June, with their mandatory minicamps.
