New England Patriots' Stefon Diggs Delivers Strong Praise for Drake Maye cover image

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs loves playing with QB Drake Maye.

While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs delivered strong praise for QB Drake Maye.

Diggs praised Maye for his calm demeanor and temperament.

"I watch him and his demeanor, his temperament throughout the game and it never changes," Diggs said about Maye. "I think he's consistent. And the more people that band behind him, you see him kind of get rolling. And once he gets rolling, he's real scary."

Maye is only in his second season in the NFL, but he's already established himself as one of the top QBs in the league. The UNC product finished the 2025 regular season with 4,394 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns while completing 72.0% of his passes.

Many people around the NFL thought Diggs made a mistake leaving the Houston Texans for the Patriots last offseason in free agency. However, the veteran playmaker made the right move.

Diggs caught 85 balls this season for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. He's in the AFC Championship Game, while his old team, the Texans, is at home. New England beat Houston in the Divisional Round and Diggs' old QB, CJ Stroud, had four interceptions.

The Patriots are Super Bowl contenders for the first time in the post-Tom Brady era. Maye could win the MVP Award, while Mike Vrabel could win the Coach of the Year Award. New England went 14-3 in the regular season and won the AFC East.

Diggs and Co. face the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game. The Patriots are favored to win since the Broncos will be without starting QB Bo Nix, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round.

Diggs has never been to the Super Bowl. It will be fascinating to see if the Patriots can beat the Broncos in Denver, a hard city to play in because of the altitude.

If the Patriots defeat the Broncos, they will face the Los Angeles Rams or Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.
