As the days and weeks pass by leading up to the NFL Draft, the Patriots, like many other teams, are trying to lock in who they may want to pick.
Prior to the NFL Draft, teams across the league can take part in a Top 30 meeting, where they invite up to 30 eligible draft prospects to their facilities for anything from interviews to film study before draft night.
It's a process that helps, a lot of times, decipher who is a clear fit for their program and who they may want to pass on.
NFL and CFB analysts reported this week that the New England Patriots have invited Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion for a 30-visit.
Although there have been a lot of moving parts this offseason in terms of who the Patriots are releasing, signing, trading for, and drafting, one thing has been certain: they have had a lot of interest at the wide receiver position.
With a quarterback like Drake Maye under center, you want to keep his growth on track as best as you can. Drafting a wide receiver in a later round in the draft could be key.
Concepcion was a name mentioned this week in the Patriots Roundtable Podcast mock drafts over the last few weeks. The 2026 draft prospect got his start at North Carolina State. He was a true freshman there with ACC Rookie of the Year honors. He set the school's freshman record in football that year, recording 71 catches for 839 yards.
After the 2024 season, Concepcion entered the transfer portal and was accepted by Texas A&M, a move that re-energized his career after a slight dip in production in his last season at North Carolina State.
As an Aggie, Concepcion was key on the field. In 2025, he showed just how explosive he can be, racking up 61 receptions for 919 yards and nine touchdowns. In punt returns alone, he recorded 456 total yards.
As everyone knows, if you can be a dual threat on special teams for the Patriots, they are going to have a high interest in acquiring you.
There has been some renovation at the wide receiver position this offseason for the New England Patriots. Stefon Diggs has been released, Romeo Doubs has signed a four-year deal in free agency, and there is still the buzz around an A.J. Brown trade.
With all that going on, there still seems to be a high priority to find someone that Maye can grow with over time. Drafting a wideout in a month's time could be key this offseason.
