The New England Patriots are going for the season sweep of the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and if they grab a win, they will clinch the AFC East division title.
I don't think anyone had the Patriots clinching the AFC East by Week 15 on their bingo card heading into the season.
Nevertheless, here we are.
New England will be hosting the Bills this time around, as the Pats came away with a stunning victory in Buffalo all the way back in Week 5.
But even though the Patriots are home, they are actually underdogs against the Bills, and wide receiver Stefon Diggs — who spent four seasons in Buffalo between 2020 and 2023 — seems happy about the disrespect.
"Good," Diggs said, via ESPN's Mike Reiss. "This team is full of (players) that were castoffs, people who were cut or that didn’t necessarily get the opportunity."
Last year, New England went just 4-13 and was widely viewed as the worst roster in the NFL. The Pats then had a very busy offseason, utilizing their expansive cap room to add a bunch of key players. Like Diggs, for example.

But Diggs has still managed to catch 64 passes for 705 yards and three touchdowns this season, and he boasts a career-high catch rate of 81 percent.
The 32-year-old was originally selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft and spent five seasons with the Vikings before being dealt to Buffalo in 2020. He went on to lead the league in both receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535) during his debut campaign with the Bills, and between 2018 and 2023, he posted six straight 1,000-yard seasons.
The Patriots' receiving corps was generally viewed as a weak spot heading into 2025, but Diggs, Mack Hollins (another free-agent addition) and Kayshon Boutte have combined to form a rather impressive trio. DeMario Douglas has been solid, as well.
Of course, New England's success in 2025 is thanks much in part to second-year quarterback Drake Maye, who is a leading MVP candidate.
We'll see if the Pats can collect their 11th straight win when they face the Bills this Sunday.
