The New England Patriots fell to the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, 35-31. It was a tight contest throughout between two of the best teams in the AFC.
In the Patriots' loss, rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson tied an NFL record. Henderson joined Saquon Barkley and Chris Johnson with two games with multiple 50-plus-yard touchdown runs in a game.
Henderson has tied this record in only 14 career games, while Barkley has played 104, and Johnson played 130 in his career.
He also tied Barkley for the most 50-plus-yard rushing touchdowns as a rookie, with four on the season. He will have a chance to break both of those records in the final three games of the year.
Henderson has been an explosive back for the Patriots, giving them an element that they were missing on offense last season.
The 23-year-old running back ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries against the Bills. He also had two receptions for 13 yards.
On the season, Henderson has rushed for 773 yards and seven touchdowns on 143 carries. He also had 34 receptions for 212 yards and a touchdown.
Despite being the secondary back behind Rhamondre Stevenson to start the season, Henderson has emerged among the favorites for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Henderson's play out of the backfield has also helped second-year quarterback Drake Maye develop into an MVP candidate.
Maye has completed 70.9 percent of his passes for 3,567 yards, 23 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The 23-year-old quarterback has also rushed for 362 yards and four touchdowns.
New England's young offense, built around Maye and Henderson, will look to lead a deep playoff run. The Patriots have gone from 4-13 in the 2024 season to 11-3 through 15 weeks of the 2025 campaign.
New England will look to bounce back from their loss to the Bills in a Week 16 matchup on the road against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens are fighting to win the AFC North and make it into the postseason, but the Patriots could play spoiler and help their own chances of winning the AFC East title over the Bills.
