Do the Patriots need to draft a receiver? If so, this may be their guy.

We've still got some time until the NFL Draft next month, so it's time for more hypothetical drafts.

The New England Patriots' offseason has had a lot of buzz, specifically at one position. The wide receiver role has been getting a lot of focus ever since the final whistle blew on Super Bowl LX.

Whether it's Stefon Diggs' departure, Romeo Doubs signing, or the A.J. Brown rumors, the Patriots have made it known without saying too much: They're in the market for a WR1.

Yes, Doubs or a potential Brown trade could signify either player could be the man at the top of their wide receiver room, but what about a name for the future?

The Patriots could find that in a few different options, and one of them, for the time being, seems to be Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II.

Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, and Kyle Williams all proved to be threats down the sidelines for opposing teams' defenses. But Hollins has one year remaining on his contract, Williams still seems to need some development, and Boutte has been a name tied to the A.J. Brown trade.

Brazzell and Maye could become a WR/QB duo of the future. The 22-year-old Tennessee Volunteer has size and speed; he's a menace in 1-on-1 coverage on the perimeter and could be of huge assistance in the red zone.

Brazzell comes from a football bloodline. His father was drafted by the New York Jets in 1998 and played three seasons in the NFL. He was a three-star recruit after catching 104 passes for 1,596 yards and 21 touchdowns during his prep career at Midland Legacy in Midland, TX.

Brazzell II started his college career at Tulane, where he caught 45 passes for 722 yards and five TDs. However, after head coach Willie Fritz departed, Brazell II followed. He entered the transfer portal and headed to the Vols, where he would play in 25 games with 20 starts and pull in 91 passes for 1,350 yards and 11 touchdowns and be voted first-team All-SEC to cap off his redshirt senior campaign in 2025.

Is this the guy to build a future with alongside Drake Maye? Well, it's a worthy argument.

Brazzell was brought up in the Patriots Roundtable Podcast mock drafts, where he could be selected somewhere in the third or, potentially, the fifth round.

He may not be a WR1 out of the gate, but the Patriots made it clear when they released Stefon Diggs and signed Romeo Doubs. They had to clear up some space in both cap space and just general room on the roster to let the wide receiver of the future grow.
