Kayshon Boutte could be traded by the New England Patriots.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the New England Patriots could trade WR Kayshon Boutte.
Boutte is entering the final year of his contract.
Boutte appeared in 14 games for the Patriots last season. He had 33 receptions for 551 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns.
New England drafted Boutte with the 187th overall pick in the 2023 draft out of LSU. Boutte enters next season with 78 career receptions for 1,159 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns.
The Patriots, who lost to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl last season, are expected to acquire A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles in June. Stefon Diggs was released this offseason and former Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs joined New England in free agency, so teams believe Boutte could be available for the right price.
It will be intriguing to see if the Patriots trade Boutte. Just because Mike Vrabel and Co. are expected to acquire Brown doesn't mean they HAVE to part ways with Boutte. After all, the more weapons New England surrounds superstar QB Drake Maye with, the better.
Maye finished the 2025 regular season with 4,394 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns while completing 72.0% of his passes. He finished in second in MVP voting to Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford.
A UNC product, Maye finished the Super Bowl with 295 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and two interceptions. It's fair to wonder how he would have played against the Seahawks had he not gotten hurt against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.
Maye enters next season with 6,670 passing yards and 49 passing touchdowns in his career. It will be fascinating to see if the Patriots can get back to the Super Bowl next season and win it all in Year 2 of the Vrabel era and Year 3 of the Maye era.
"Everybody's got the same goal this time of year: to get back to that game," Maye said. "I think knowing that we were there and had a chance at it is just that much more fulfilling for me being able to reach that."
