The New England Patriots have signed a Baltimore Ravens player in free agency.

The New England Patriots have signed a Baltimore Ravens player.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Patriots are signing DE Dre'Mont Jones.

Jones played for the Tennessee Titans and Ravens last season. He put up seven sacks, 19 solo tackles, seven tackles for loss and 24 QB hits.

Jones has been in the NFL since 2019. He has played for the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, Titans and Ravens. The 29-year-old has 37.5 sacks, 135 solo tackles, 47 tackles for loss and 87 QB hits in his career.

New England racked up 35 sacks in 2025. That was good for only 25th in the NFL. Mike Vrabel and Co. needed to add a pass rusher this offseason, and while Jones isn't a star, he's a quality player who should help the Patriots record more sacks next season.

In Year 1 of the Vrabel era, the Patriots made it all the way to the Super Bowl. New England lost to the Seattle Seahawks.

It will be fascinating to see if the Patriots can return to the Super Bowl next season. WR Stefon Diggs has already been released after just one season in New England. The veteran is facing felony strangulation and other criminal charges stemming from an alleged dispute with his personal chef. Diggs pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is next scheduled to appear for a pretrial hearing on April 1.

Diggs had 85 catches for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns last season. The Patriots were interested in trading for Chicago Bears WR D.J. Moore, but the Bears traded Moore to the Buffalo Bills.

Expect New England to pursue Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown now. Vrabel coached Brown in Tennessee.
