Rhamondre Stevenson says the Patriots are hammering the run game before Miami, where he needs 46 yards to reach 4,000 for his career in New England.

Rhamondre Stevenson needs 46 rushing yards Sunday at the Miami Dolphins to become the fourth player in New England Patriots history with 4,000 career rushing yards.

Stevenson enters the game with 3,954, according to the team's game release. Sam Cunningham (5,453), Jim Nance (5,323), and Tony Collins (4,647) are the only Patriots to reach 4,000.

The Patriots run for 122.0 yards a game, 11th in the NFL. Miami's run defense gives up 110.2 a game and ranks 16th.

Stevenson wants the Patriots to get their run game going against Miami.

"We would love that," Stevenson said. "We're hammering it hard this week, the run game, so hopefully we can reap the rewards on Sunday."

Chasing the Franchise Lists

Stevenson would rather see where he stands in the team record book after games than during a practice week.

"It's a huge honor," Stevenson explained. "I'm in the record books with running backs, [all-time] greats, ultimately. So it's a huge honor. Hope to pass a couple more of them up."

His 30th career rushing touchdown came on Oct. 11, a 5-yard run in the first quarter of the win over the Las Vegas Raiders. That put him in a group of eight Patriots with at least 30. Jim Nance has the most with 45, followed by Sam Cunningham (43), Corey Dillon (37), Steve Grogan (35), LeGarrette Blount (34), and Tony Collins and Curtis Martin with 32 apiece.

Stevenson is two touchdowns behind Collins and Martin, who share sixth place. His last two-touchdown game was the 38-10 win over Miami on Jan. 4 that closed the 2025 regular season, the sixth of his career.

As a receiver, he has 206 career catches. Cunningham caught 210, fourth among Patriots running backs, and Kevin Faulk (431), James White (381), and Collins (261) are the only backs in team history with more.

Stevenson has 220 career points, 22nd in team history. One more touchdown would put him at 226, past Wes Welker (225) and even with Martin for 20th.

A Career High at Chicago

Stevenson caught a 48-yard touchdown pass from Drake Maye at the end of the first half of the Oct. 22 game against the Chicago Bears, a 30-24 Patriots loss. He finished with a career-high 93 receiving yards.

His previous high was 88, set at Miami on Sept. 14, 2025. The Chicago total was the most receiving yards by a Patriots running back since James White had 98 at Houston on Dec. 1, 2019.

On the ground that night, Stevenson carried six times for 22 yards. Maye threw for 321 yards in a game Roundtable broke down on the All-22.

Stevenson plans to rank his plays once his career is over, not before.

"To get open. Be an outlet for Drake if he needs me," Stevenson said of his role in the passing game. "And yeah, just get open, ultimately."

Another 90-yard receiving game Sunday would make Stevenson the second Patriots running back with back-to-back 90-yard receiving games. Ron Burton did it in November 1962, with 94 yards at Houston and 97 against Buffalo.

TreVeyon Henderson is questionable with an illness after missing practice Thursday and Friday.

CBS will carry Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff from Hard Rock Stadium between the 4-3 Patriots and the 1-5 Dolphins.
