The Athletic's NFL Insider Dianna Russini was on 98.5 The Sports Hub Wednesday with some info about some offseason moves that could favor the Patriots.

No matter if Super Bowl LX is won or lost by the New England Patriots, one thing is for sure: the Patriots have cap space that they'd like to utilize as best as they can this offseason.

As of February 2026, the Patriots have anywhere from $42.6 to $42.7 million in cap space, and with that, some choices are going to have to be made. A few revolve around their offense and whether they want to add more weapons for Drake Maye.

Or should they bring in a significant addition to their defense? Someone like Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini was a guest on Zolak & Bertrand on 98.5 The Sports Hub from the media hall at Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California. There, she touched on a few things, including what the Patriots should do in both free agency and the trade market this offseason. Crosby's name was the first to be mentioned as a potential Patriot next year.

“Maxx Crosby doesn’t seem too happy in Las Vegas," Russini said. "I know he wants to play for Mike Vrabel. He’s told me before.”

Crosby is currently in a disagreement with the Raiders' front office over how the team handled an injury this season. A report surfaced late in the season that he stormed out of team facilities after it was announced that the star defensive end would sit out the final two regular-season games.

The 28-year-old Raider would be an interesting addition and could be an acquisition for the Patriots that could lock them in as a top contender in the AFC for years to come. Crosby has expressed that he does not care about the Raiders getting the number one overall draft pick in the 2026 draft. He has made it clear in the past few months that he wants to win and be one of the best at his position.

There is still one more game left to be played in the 2025/2026 season, and it's unclear who the Patriots want to pursue. If it were Crosby, well, the Raiders have not made it public that they're taking trade offers for him yet.

We also don't know when Crosby told Russini that he would love to play for Vrabel.

There are a lot of questions here that won't be answered for at least the next couple of months.
