New polls show that the New England Patriots’ Gillette Stadium ranked favorably among U.S. World Cup venues for fan experience and game day atmosphere.
While the New England Patriots have been enjoying their summer break, their home field — Gillette Stadium — has been rebranded to “Boston Stadium” as a primary host site for World Cup 2026 action.
After weeks of hosting, new reports now suggest that Gillette has been one of the greatest venues to attend a World Cup match in the United States.
In a recent poll conducted by SeatPick, U.S. World Cup hosts were ranked on a scale from 1.00 to 10.00 based on several cost and survivability metrics, including beer price, water price, hotel cost, mosquito risk, feels-like temperature, violent crime rate, and stadium capacity. Gillette Stadium ranked first overall (of 11) for fan experience, earning a total score of 8.08 out of 10.00.
The only other stadium with at least an 8.00 ranking was Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. AFC East rival New York Jets’ MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, ranked ninth with an overall score of 6.32.
Gillette Stadium received its best marks with the second-cheapest average beer price ($8.58), third-lowest feels-like temperature (83 degrees fahrenheit), and tied for the lowest mosquito risk (0.5 out of 10).

In a separate poll conducted by the New York Times which ranked all 16 World Cup venues, Gillette Stadium ranked fourth on the list overall with a score of 41 out of 50.
In the poll, host sites were graded based on matchday experience, match atmosphere, transport and location, aesthetics, and sustainability for football. New England’s grades were as follows:
- Matchday experience: 9/10
- Match atmosphere: 9/10
- Transport and location: 6/10
- Aesthetics: 8/10
- Suitability for football: 9/10
On the stadium, Jordan Campbell commented:
“The 218ft-tall lighthouse stationed behind one of the goals, a nod to the New England region’s maritime history, is an iconic sight. With a 360-degree observatory, it is the first thing your eyes are alerted to as the stadium appears in the distance as you approach. That the current version of it was only installed three years ago is the biggest surprise. Built in 2002, this arena in Foxboro somehow possesses the character of a throwback stadium while looking more modern.”

The Patriots may not be hosting a game at Gillette Stadium until August, but the Kraft Group’s complex is continuing to turn heads in the offseason. Gillette is the most expensive privately-funded stadium in the NFL, with recent upgrades that include a new team training facility, the country's largest curved videoboard (22,000 square feet), and the 22-story lighthouse (the tallest lighthouse in the United States) that debuted in 2023.
