BREAKING: Raiders Fire Head Coach Pete Carroll After One Season cover image

The Las Vegas Raiders have made it official after ending the 2025 season 3-14.

Las Vegas has officially fired legendary head coach Pete Carroll after just one season, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Raiders issued a statement through owner Mark Davis.

“The Las Vegas Raiders have relieved Pete Carroll of his duties as head coach. We appreciate and wish him and his family all the best.

“Moving forward, General Manager John Spytek will lead all football operations in close collaboration with Tom Brady, including the search for the club’s next head coach. Together, they will guide football decisions with a shared focus on leadership, culture, and alignment with the organization’s long-term vision and goals.”

While the Raiders lost a lot of games and secured the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s draft, Carroll went out on top with a 14-12 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Carroll set lofty expectations for his first season in Las Vegas, vowing that the team can be a playoff contender in year one. Unfortunately, this season didn’t go the way Carroll and the team wanted.

The Raiders had some buzz surrounding it coming into the season with the additions of Carroll, his hand-picked quarterback Geno Smith and rookie phenom running back Ashton Jeanty but won just two of the final 16 games after defeating the New England Patriots in Week 1.

It was a miserable year for Carroll and the Raiders to put it softly. Two coordinators were fired midseason, Smith led the National Football League in interceptions and the team ranked at the bottom of every major offensive statistic.

Carroll was signed to a three-year deal with a fourth-year option prior to this season. The belief is that Carroll still wants to coach, even at 74-years-old, and there are several head coach openings around the league.

Brady is at Las Vegas’ facilities already to get to work with Spytek as they begin their head coach search for the sixth time since 2021.
