Crosby Says He Wants To Remain A Raider

As the rumors incessantly swirl in the final days before the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline, the future of defensive end Maxx Crosby with the Las Vegas Raiders has become a hot topic, but he'd prefer to stay in Sin City.

Perhaps the Las Vegas Raiders will take a "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" stance in regard to whether or not they ship star defensive end and franchise fixture Maxx Crosby to another team before the NFL's trade deadline reaches the finish line at 1 p.m. PT on Nov. 10, a scant six days away.

As everyone knows, the Raiders had agreed to trade Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in March for a pair of first-round draft picks before the Ravens were said to have gotten "cold feet" and backed out of the deal, ostensibly because of the nebulous health of Crosby's surgically repaired knee, which had been operated on following the 2025 season.

At that time, Crosby was open to leaving Las Vegas because he was not happy with the direction the franchise appeared to be taking, which included sitting him for the final eight games of the season, including being put on IR for 2025's final two contests, in what he interpreted as a front-office decision to tank for the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft.

But now that we're eight months and more removed from all of that drama, and it looks like the long-awaited Raiders' rebuild is finally gaining some traction, it appears that Crosby would love to remain a Raider, per an NFL insider report.

Writing for ESPN on Nov. 1, Adam Schefter said that while other teams may have been interested in Crosby's availability at one point, it has been all quiet on that front in recent weeks, to the delight of Crosby himself.

"Unlike last year, when Crosby openly wondered about his future in Las Vegas, this year he doesn't want to go anywhere and the Raiders currently have no plans to trade him," wrote Schefter, citing league sources.

"'Maxx absolutely does not want to leave Las Vegas under any circumstances,'" one unnamed source told ESPN, according to Schefter. "'His hope, though not in his full control, is that he remains a Raider for life.'"

It's also easy to see why the Raiders would love to keep him, despite their attempt to send him away in March.

Since being drafted by the then-Oakland Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 draft, Crosby has compiled 72.5 sacks, which is fifth overall in the NFL in that time behind Myles Garrett (105.0), T.J. Watt (102.5), Trey Hendrickson (81.0) and Danielle Hunter (78.5).

This season, Crosby, who has started all eight of Las Vegas' games coming off the knee surgery, has been up to his old tricks as he's tied for the team lead in sacks with three and his 18 quarterback hits are nearly three times as many as the next Raider, Kwity Paye, who has seven. He also has 29 pressures, 13 hurries and 12 QB knockdowns, with 22 tackles and four tackles for loss thrown in for good measure.

Most importantly, the team itself has begun to show signs of sustainable improvement. While the defense, especially against the run, remains a work in progress, the Raiders are on the fringes of playoff contention as they stand 4-4 after eight weeks. Not bad after winning all of three games in 2026.

And apparently good enough at this point for Crosby to want to remain a "Raider for life," and the Raiders to happily accede to his wishes.
