With Buffalo shifting leadership, the Las Vegas Raiders have been linked as a team that could make an offer for Bills WR Keon Coleman.
The Las Vegas Raiders did some work to add pieces around the new quarterback and top draft pick, Fernando Mendoza.
The biggest addition was signing Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum to address a key area of need on the offensive line.
Still, the Raiders pass-catchers aren't the most talented, so adding another weapon for Mendoza to work with would be beneficial, whether it is now or later.
One player whose name was floated in trade talks before was Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman, who was selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
However, the Bills owner said that the Sean McDermott-led coaching staff pushed to select Coleman, so with McDermott fired, there could be a scenario where Buffalo moves on from the former Florida State star.
ESPN's Ben Solak compiled a potential offer for the Raiders to land Coleman. In his proposed package, Las Vegas would send a fifth-round pick in 2028, and the Raiders would acquire Coleman and a seventh-round draft choice in 2028, so that would be a good price for Las Vegas to pay.
A potential trade of Coleman would make a lot of sense for the Raiders, and here's what Solak wrote about why.
"The Raiders don't have a big-framed receiver on their roster, which is one of the lone weaknesses of a skill position group that's otherwise well constructed. Coleman would join the depth chart behind Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor, challenging second-year players Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton Jr. for snaps. Rookie QB Fernando Mendoza loved to throw back-shoulder balls to big-bodied receivers like Coleman during his time with the Hoosiers."
As you can see, the WRs on the roster have a lot of question marks around them, although Tre Tucker looked well in his first season in 2025.
Nailor was a free agency addition this past offseason, but he caught just 29 passes for 444 yards and four scores last season with the Minnesota Vikings.
Jakobi Meyers was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, and Tucker (696 yards) and tight end Brock Bowers (680 yards) were the only players to record more than 400 yards receiving, although Geno Smith's poor play and Chip Kelly's bad offensive playcalling certainly did not help that at all.
In the same ESPN article, Bills insider Alaina Getzenberg predicted that no deal gets done involving Coleman, and the front office in Buffalo might give him one more shot with a new staff in place.
Still, if he is available, it might be a good option for the Raiders to buy low and see if they can find a reliable WR who is just two years removed from being a second-round draft pick.
