Mendoza's future protection solidifies with an offensive tackle, while a speedy receiver and versatile linemen bolster the Las Vegas Raiders' draft haul.

The Las Vegas Raiders seem all set to select Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick.

The big question comes after that in terms of what the Raiders do after the Mendoza selection.

Chad Reuter of NFL.com had a new five-round mock draft, and let's run down the selections.

Round 1, No. 1 overall: Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza

Just about every single mock draft should have Mendoza at No. 1, and rightfully so. Kirk Cousins is in town and he could very well start Week 1, but Mendoza is the future at the QB position in Sin City.

"I think pairing Mendoza and Kirk Cousins in the same QB room will go swimmingly. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner's game features a mix of Cousins' personality and pocket poise, and the athleticism and intelligence of former No. 1 pick Alex Smith," Reuter wrote.

Round 2, No. 36 overall: Utah offensive tackle Caleb Lomu

The Raiders hit a free agency home run by signing Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum. Now, they give Mendoza more protection in Round 2, and Lomu is a player who could very well be drafted in the first round.

Round 3, No. 67 overall: LSU safety A.J. Haulcy

LSU has had plenty of talented safeties, and Haulcy is another example of that group. The Raiders getting him in Round 3 could be a steal of the draft.

Round 4, No. 102 overall: Louisville wide receiver Chris Bell

If Bell didn't suffer a torn ACL, he would very likely be a first-round selection. Is there risk? Of course, but grabbing a top-50 talent at 102 overall is a risk worth taking for the Raiders.

Round 4, No. 117 overall: Notre Dame OG Billy Schrauth

This is another terrific pick for the Raiders, and Schrauth is a piece that gives the Raiders more flexibility on the offensive line.

Round 4, No. 134 overall: Washington running back Jonah Coleman

This is a fun one. The Raiders have Ashton Jeanty, but Klint Kubiak is probably salivating at the chance to add another talented RB to the group, just like he had in Seattle with Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet.

Round 5, No. 175 overall: Texas A&M defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim

The final pick for the Raiders in this mock draft addresses the defensive tackle position. If this is the way the board shakes up for Las Vegas, it could easily be one of the better draft classes, especially with Bell this late and Coleman as one of the sleepers in the draft.
