Ashton Jeanty's rushing struggles have reached a troubling level, with the Raiders running back ranking last in rushing first downs among NFL players with at least 90 carries.

The Las Vegas Raiders have struggled to establish their running game during a four-game losing streak.

And one statistic illustrates just how difficult things have become for Ashton Jeanty.

According to NBC Sports, Jeanty has produced just 15 rushing first downs this season, the fewest among NFL running backs with at least 90 carries.

It's a troubling distinction for the player Las Vegas selected sixth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jeanty has rushed for 328 yards and one touchdown on 106 carries through seven games, averaging just 3.1 yards per attempt.

The second-year running back managed only 15 yards on eight carries, averaging 1.9 yards per attempt.

Jeanty hasn't rushed for more than 58 yards in any game since gaining 102 against Miami in the season opener.

His inability to consistently move the chains has become another concern for an offense that has struggled to sustain drives.

And the contrast with rookie Mike Washington Jr. is difficult to ignore.

Washington, a fourth-round selection, has averaged 4.9 yards per carry this season, considerably better than Jeanty's production.

The Raiders have already faced questions about whether Washington deserves additional opportunities, particularly after his 43-yard performance against Buffalo.

But Jeanty's struggles on the ground don't tell the entire story.

He's emerged as a productive receiving option for quarterback Kirk Cousins, catching 34 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns.

Against the Rams, Jeanty caught all eight of his targets for 61 yards and a touchdown, providing one of the few bright spots in another disappointing defeat.

Those receiving numbers have helped offset some of his rushing struggles, although the Raiders need more production from their featured back.

Jeanty acknowledged the need for improvement following Sunday's loss.

"It's a long season, we've got a lot of football left, so regardless of what it looks like, we've got to keep working, keep getting better, no matter what it looks like," Jeanty said, according to NBC Sports.

The Raiders, now 3-4 after opening the season with three consecutive victories, visit the New York Jets on Sunday.

For Jeanty, the challenge is finding a way to translate his receiving success into more consistent production on the ground.
