The Las Vegas Raiders have hung out the “We’re Hiring” sign, and there are plenty of candidates available for their head coaching job. It’s considered one of the less desirable jobs on the market, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t good candidates.

Saad Yousuf and Dianna Russini of The Athletic recently published a rundown on all the current coaching openings, and it included a list of the coaches for whom the Raiders have requested an interview.

Klint Kubiak, Offensive Coordinator, Seattle Seahawks. Kubiak is a hot name right now, largely because the Mariners just clinched the number one seed in the NFC, and he did it with Sam Darnold as his quarterback. That’s a big deal, if Kubiak doesn’t seal his deal this week—he’s already talked to the Baltimore Ravens, according to reports— a lot will depend on how Darnold does in the playoffs. And we all know how that usually goes. He’d be a good fit for the Raiders, but he’ll undoubtedly have better options unless minority owner Tom Brady can work his magic with Kubiak.

Kevin Stefanski, head coach Cleveland Browns. Stefanski is another hot name based on the fact that he’s already been a successful head coach, and with a team where things never go right. Still, the inevitable happened and Stefanski is out there and available now, although his name has been tarnished to some extent by several quarterback messes, including DeShaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. He will also have better opportunities, but the Raiders’ chances are better with Stefanski.

Vance Joseph, defensive coordinator, Denver Broncos. Joseph is the current hot name on the defensive side based on his success with the Denver defense, which has led the Broncos to the top seed in the AFC. But he’d be a bad fit for the Raiders, who really do need an offensive guy to develop their young quarterback, assuming they’re going to draft either Fernando Mendoza or Dante Moore. Joseph deserves his second chance at a top job, but he's the wrong guy at the wrong time for the Raiders.

Davis Webb, offensive passing game coordinator and quarterback coach, Denver Broncos. Webb is a long shot, but he’s a sneaky name here who’s going to get a head job sooner or later. He’s gotten a lot of credit for keeping quarterback Bo Nix on track during some of his struggles, and while he’s probably too inexperienced for the Raiders, he remains someone to keep an eye on.
