Las Vegas Raiders eye veteran running back Najee Harris for a potential boost after his recovery, adding experience to their backfield.

The Las Vegas Raiders might not be done adding free agents.

After a wild first few days of free agency, and a failed Maxx Crosby trade with the Baltimore Ravens, the Raiders spent a lot of money and added a lot of pieces on both sides of the ball.

Some of the notable moves from Day 1 of free agency included Ravens Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum. Then, former Georgia Bulldogs teammates Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker came to Las Vegas to boost the defense.

Now, the Raiders are hosting another interesting player on a free agency visit: Running back Najee Harris.

Harris, who was a star at Alabama, was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 24 overall in 2021.

He had four straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons with the Steelers, totaling 28 touchdowns while playing every single game in four seasons.

However, Harris then signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers and suffered a torn Achilles tendon in just his third game as the Chargers' injury curse continued.

Harris has been working hard in his recovery from the Achilles injury, and he had just 15 carries for 61 yards in three games in LA as he shared the backfield with rookie Omarion Hampton.

Harris also took a visit with the Seattle Seahawks, and the Super Bowl champions have a spot after Kenneth Walker III left in free agency and joined the Kansas City Chiefs.

What Can Najee Harris Bring to Las Vegas?

The Raiders have 2025 first-round pick Ashton Jeanty as the bellcow and workhorse RB, but Harris would give Klint Kubiak another veteran player on a rather young team.

Harris was recently seen in a video on a treadmill, and it seems his progress is going well.

Harris just turned 28 years old, and he was a huge force for the Steelers during his time in Pittsburgh.

He had 250 carries or more in every season with the Steelers.

Jeanty led the Raiders with 975 yards and 266 carries, but quarterback Geno Smith was second with 41 carries for 109 yards, and veteran Raheem Mostert finished third with 22 carries for 104 yards.

In fact, Jeanty had all five rushing touchdowns for the Raiders as a team, so there were very limited options outside of the former Boise State star.

Harris would give the Raiders a cheap backup option, and one that brings a lot of experience to the fold.
