Head coach Klint Kubiak also moves to 2-0 in his NFL career with a chance to make it three straight against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
In the NFL, as the kids would say, it's all about "stackin' dubs." And after nearly two full weeks of the 2026 season, only eight teams have started with consecutive wins ("stacked dubs"), with the 1-0 New York Giants having a chance to make it nine on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams.
The most surprising of the group may be the Las Vegas Raiders.
The opening schedule hasn't been the most daunting - defeating a downtrodden Miami Dolphins team 27-13 and an out-of-sorts Los Angeles Chargers squad 26-14 - but given the Raiders' recent history, any evidence of sustained success is something to be celebrated.
Color Sam Warren of The Athletic is cautiously optimistic after Sunday's defeat of the Chargers: "...the floor certainly appears to be raised for the Raiders. [Quarterback Kirk] Cousins will keep them competent, and the defense is able to step up in big situations. They’re not operating on the level of a top-tier NFL team, and it remains to be seen how they’d fare against one. But [head coach Klint] Kubiak has definitively improved this team, and it isn’t among the league’s worst like it was last year."
In addition to being better than last year, the 2-0 start is something the Raiders haven't managed since 2021, when they beat the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers to kick off the season. That was followed by an overtime win over Miami for 3-0, but consecutive losses to the Chargers and Chicago Bears preceded Jon Gruden's resignation as head coach amid reports of improper behavior. The Raiders did rebound to finish 10-6 under interim coach Rich Bisaccia but were ousted in the wild-card round of the playoffs by the Cincinnati Bengals.
That has been followed by four straight losing seasons (6-11, 8-9, 4-13 and 3-14) under a trio of head coaches: Josh McDaniels, Antonio Pierce and Pete Carroll. That number of head coaches is one less than the number of players who were on both the 2021 and 2026 2-0 teams: offensive tackle Kolton Miller, defensive end Maxx Crosby, punter A.J. Cole and defensive end Malcolm Koonce.
Sunday's 26-14 win places the Raiders in a tie with the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West, with both teams looking promising after two weeks. Both Kansas City and the Raiders are undefeated thus far, looking to keep their winning streak going in Week 3 before they clash in Week 4 for an inter-division matchup. The question is, how long will Vegas remain undefeated? Can they keep up this level of success for weeks to come?
While no one's expecting anywhere near that from Kubiak and this year's Raiders team just yet, they'll get their next chance to stack another dub on Sunday when they travel to New Orleans to face the Saints. New Orleans, coming off a 6-11 2025 season, is another early 2026 surprise package with an overtime loss at the Detroit Lions in Week 1 and an impressive 24-17 road win over the Ravens on Sunday.
Should the Raiders win this Sunday, they'll get a chance to go 4-0 when they host the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 4. The last time the Raiders were 4-0 they played in Oakland and it was the magical season of 2002, when first-year head coach Bill Callahan led them to an 11-5 record and a berth in Super Bowl XXXVII where they dropped a 48-21 decision to Gruden's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
