The Los Angeles Rams lost Kevin Dotson, who had to be carted off the field with a concerning ankle injury.

The Los Angeles Rams are currently engaged in a critical matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, in what will lead a top seed in the NFC and NFC West nod when the game is concluded.

Both teams have been going back-and-forth offensively and defensively, but the Rams were the first team to suffer a significant injury. Right guard Kevin Dotson suffered a concerning ankle injury and exited the game.

Following a play in the first quarter near the end zone, Dotson appeared to get rolled on, leading to him staying on the turf for multiple minutes. After getting on his feet, he had to be helped off the field.

The Rams then called for the medical cart, leading to Dotson having to be taken to the locker room. The training staff appeared to be stabilizing his left ankle.

It is never a good sign when a cart has to come out, and Dotson will be set for some MRI and imaging to determine the severity of the injury.

Backup guard Justin Dedich came in for Dotson. Moments after, a would-be touchdown for Davis Allen was wiped off the board due to Dedich being called for a questionable ineligible man downfield call.

Losing Dotson will be tough to deal with, as he is part of the stalwart offensive line that has kept Matthew Stafford upright.

Dotson is also one of the best guards in the league, as he ranks No. 2 overall out of 78 eligible guards with a grade of 86.1, per PFF. His 89.2 run block grade is also good for third overall.

The Rams and Seahawks have had some good plays, but it was the Seahawks who struck first with a touchdown in the first quarter.

After some aggressive playcalling from Rams head coach Sean McVay, the score is 7-6 (at the time of this writing), in favor of the Seahawks. Los Angeles has only managed two field goals.

The Rams will need to make do without Dotson, who looks to have suffered a very serious injury. However, this is speculation, and the severity of his injury will be updated by McVay following the game's conclusion.
