Miami quarterback Carson Beck sends high praise towards Los Angeles Rams superstar quarterback Matthew Stafford at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is coming off the best season of his career.

At 38 years old, Stafford proved all the doubters wrong. Many questioned his ability to play at an elite level throughout the grueling NFL season, and he defied all odds.

Not only did he play exceptionally well, but he also had the best season of his career, winning his first MVP after posting 4,707 yards, 46 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a 109.2 passer rating. It was an award that Stafford deserved, as many came to appreciate the stellar play that he's displayed throughout his 17-year career.

Many have come to learn and appreciate the greatness of Stafford, including one of the top quarterbacks in this year's draft class, Carson Beck.

Beck raved about Stafford when speaking to the media at the NFL Scouting Combine.

"I'd say Matthew Stafford is the one," Beck said when asked what quarterback he studies film of. "When I was at Georgia, he was always a guy that I would watch and that I've continued to watch. The talent, you look at the arm talent, the things he's able to do, it's insane, it's unbelievable. Also, having the success that he's had over just a long period of time and the consistency. I don't think people understand how amazing that is to be able to do that over such a long period of time. That's one of my favorites to watch and study."

Beck is projected to be a mid-round draft pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

He was a member of the Georgia Bulldogs before transferring to Miami ahead of the 2025 season. Beck spent the first five seasons of his college career at Georgia. Stafford is also a former Bulldog, playing there and starting from 2006 to 2008.

Stafford didn't get selected as the No. 1 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by accident. He was stellar in Athens, tallying 564 completions for a completion percentage of 57.1 percent, 7,731 passing yards, 51 touchdowns, 33 interceptions and averaged 198.2 yards per game. In his final season at Georgia, Stafford recorded 3,459 passing yards and averaged 266.1 yards per game in 13 games.

The Rams are set to enter the 2026 season with Stafford as their QB1. However, they could use a backup quarterback, considering Stafford's age and injury history, and Beck could be a name L.A. looks at.

Beck's potential landing spots include the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Rams in April's draft.
