The Los Angeles Rams have made a final decision regarding Myles Garrett's status before Week 8 action.

Following the Los Angeles' Rams' Week 7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, there was hope and optimism that the team would get superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett back on the practice field.

Unfortunately, that won't be the case.

On Wednesday afternoon, head coach Sean McVay revealed the final decision that Garrett will not be activated for return this week. Fans will have to wait at least one more week.

Garrett was acquired by the Rams in a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns. In exchange, Los Angeles gave up Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round selection, and a 2029 third-round pick. He was expected to be the final piece of a Super Bowl puzzle.

Sadly, he has only played in one of the team's seven games this season. Garrett has been dealing with a major knee issue that has plagued him for a few years.

Last season, Garrett showed what he's capable of doing when healthy. He broke the single-season sack record, racking up 23 on the season. Garrett also recorded 60 total tackles, three forced fumbles, and a defended pass.

Throughout his entire 134-game NFL career across nine years, Garrett has totaled 412 tackles, 125.5 sacks, 23 forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and 18 defended passes. He is one of the best defensive players of this NFL era.

Garrett is far from the only injury the Rams have had to overcome. Davante Adams, Poona Ford, Kobie Turner, Terrance Ferguson, Blake Grupe, and more have gone down as well.

McVay and Los Angeles will face off against the Los Angeles Chargers this week. They will be facing a Chargers' team who is desperate for a win after a brutal 0-6 start.

Only time will tell when Garrett is able to make his return to the field. For now, the Rams hold a 3-4 record and are attempting to tread water until reinforcement arrive.

In addition, Los Angeles needs to get Garrett back on the field to ease nerves. Giving up as much value as the Rams did to get him would be brutal if the knee injury is something that plagues him long-term.

Expect to hear more news about Garrett's status as the season moves forward. Hopefully, McVay will be able to share better news about the superstar defensive end's status next week.

Los Angeles will play the Washington Commanders in Week 9.
