The Los Angeles Rams appear likely to face Micah Parsons on Thanksgiving Eve.
The Los Angeles Rams are fully focused on this week's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. As they continue trying to stay afloat amid mounting injury problems, every game is extremely important.
While the focus is on the Chargers this week, another report broke that directly impacts a future game on the schedule.
According to a report from longtime NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Micah Parsons is targeting a return to the field for the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Eve against the Rams.
Parsons has missed a lot of time for the Packers since suffering a torn ACL and a fully torn meniscus last season against the Denver Broncos late in the year. Green Bay has focused on bringing him along slowly, while focusing on getting him back to fully 100 percent before returning to the field.
Needless to say, the likelihood of going up against Parsons will change a lot for Los Angeles in that game against the Packers.
In his first season with Green Bay last year following the shocking blockbuster trade between the Packers and Dallas Cowboys, Parsons showed why the team gave up two first-round picks and Kenny Clark. He racked up 41 tackles, 12.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a defended pass in 14 games played.
Matthew Stafford and the Rams' offensive line will be going up against one of the best pure pass rushers in recent NFL history. Assuming he does return, the offensive game plan will need to change drastically from what it would have been had Parsons not played.
On the Los Angeles side of things, the Rams are certainly hoping that their own superstar pass rusher will be back on the field. Myles Garrett has missed all games since Week 1 due to a knee issue of his own. He has been expected to return to the practice field at some point in the near future.
All of that being said, the game against Green Bay is still weeks away. The Rams will need to take care of business this week against the Chargers before taking on both the Washington Commanders and Arizona Cardinals. After that, the return of Parsons will be on deck.
It's always good to see NFL stars healthy and on the field. For Los Angeles, it would have been more ideal to be able to avoid Parsons, but that likely won't end up being the case.
