The Los Angeles Rams have been urged to respond to the flurry of trades happening in the NFC West.
The 2026 NFL trade deadline is coming up quickly on November 10. So far, Les Snead and the Los Angeles Rams have not been involved in any of the trades that have been completed.
On Tuesday, the Rams saw two NFC West rivals take big swing.
First, the Seattle Seahawks went out and pulled off a blockbuster trade with the Indianapolis Colts. They acquired eight-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Quenton Nelson in exchange for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round selection.
Following that move, the San Francisco 49ers responded. They also made a trade with the Colts, acquiring DeForest Buckner in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Seeing the other teams in the division making moves has caused fans in Los Angeles to get nervous. Will the Rams make a move to respond to the two previous NFC West deals? Do they have enough draft capital after the offseason trades for Trent McDuffie and Myles Garrett?
Only time will tell, but one NFL analyst thinks that Los Angeles should explore its own deal with Indianapolis.
The Athletic's Nate Atkins believes that the Rams would make sense for a few Colts players. He name-dropped wide receiver Josh Downs, defensive tackle Grover Stewart, wide receiver Ashton Dulin, and kicker Spencer Shrader.
Downs would be a big-time get for the Los Angeles offense, especially after the serious hamstring injury suffered by Davante Adams. He has caught 26 passes for 307 yards and no touchdowns in seven games this season.
Stewart would be a nice addition on the defensive line for the Rams. At 6-foot-4 and nearly 315 pounds, he's a big body who has produced 22 tackles, 0.5 sacks and a defended pass this season. He has 431 tackles, 13.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, an interception, and 15 defended passes in his 148-game NFL career.
Dulin would be a sleeper target at wideout for Los Angeles. He has caught 43 passes for 652 yards and four touchdowns across 85 games in a limited role with Indianapolis.
Finally, Los Angeles could use a legitimate kicker. After Blake Grupe went down for the season with a torn ACL, Shrader could help immediately. Through his career, he has made 37 of his 40 field goal attempts and 36 of his 37 extra points.
It will be interesting to see what the Rams choose to do ahead of the deadline. Clearly, the Colts are open for business, and there a few players Los Angeles could consider pursuing.
