Nacua is taking part in the Rams' voluntary offseason workouts after entering rehab in March following an accusation that he bit a woman on New Year's Eve.
Although Nacua was present for the workout, he will not speak with reporters at the outset of the Rams program. The program is three phases, and it ends in June.
The two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver is entering the final year of his rookie deal and is eligible for a lucrative extension with the Rams. Nacua's off-the-field issues may have put a pause on a potential extension; however, there is a good chance the two sides get a deal done before the start of the 2026 season.
Nacua's deal is set to rival or even surpass Seahawks' wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba $120 million guaranteed extension he signed last month.
Off-field issues have put a wrench in his view with the public. Nonetheless, the Rams are doing their best to get Nacua proper help and be sure he is out on the football field, helping the team in their pursuit of another Lombardi Trophy.
The 24-year-old is coming off one of the best seasons a wide receiver has produced in the league. He led the NFL with 129 receptions and tallied a career-high 1,715 receiving yards, 10 touchdowns, averaged 13.3 yards per reception and 107.2 yards per game in 16 games and 15 starts.
Nacua finished the season by earning his first first-team All-Pro selection and finished third in Offensive Player of the Year voting, marking a standout year among the league’s top offensive performers.
The former fifth-round pick has established himself as one of the premier players at his position in such a short amount of time.
The Rams selected Nacua with the 177th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. From the jump, Nacua established himself as a household name, and as he is set to enter his fourth season, that has not changed.
Through his first three NFL seasons, Nacua has recorded 313 receptions, 4,191 receiving yards, 19 touchdowns, averages 13.4 yards per reception and 95.3 yards per contest.
Big money is expected to come for Nacua, but it may require continued development on the maturity and professionalism side of his game before he fully cashes in.
