There is a chance that former Los Angeles Rams All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald will come out of retirement and join the team this upcoming season.

There is a chance that former Los Angeles Rams All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald will come out of retirement and join the team this upcoming season.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared on X on Tuesday that he texted the former All-Pro about coming out of retirement and playing for the Rams alongside their newest superstar, Myles Garrett.

"I’m for sure flirting with the idea. Helluva an opportunity with the Super Bowl in SoFi this year. If I can find the fire, it’s a possibility."

A few weeks ago, Donald appeared on the "Not Just Football with Cam Heyward" podcast, and revealed that he is completely done with the game of football.

"People ask me that all the time, 'You sure you don’t want to play?' I’ll be like 'To be honest with you, I have no urge to play football no more,'" Donald said. "Sometimes in the back of my head I be like, 'Do I want to go out there again?' I think about it and I’m like 'Nah man.'

However, Donald’s wife, Erica, took to X to share her thoughts on the buzz surrounding her husband’s potential return.

"Y’all are hilarious," Erica tweeted.

According to Erica, it is a long shot that Donald will return to football. However, his message to Schultz suggests that he will at least consider it.

It’s been two full seasons since Donald decided to hang up his cleats, and he did so at the age of 32 years old. Now, the future Hall of Famer is 35, but appears to be in just as good a shape as he was when he left the game.

Donald last took the field in the 2023 season and went out at the top of his game. In his final season, the Pittsburgh native recorded 53 total tackles, 8.0 sacks, 16 tackles for loss, 23 quarterback hits, and three passes defended in 16 games.

The 10-time Pro Bowler also finished the season on the first-team All-Pro and finished ninth in Comeback Player of the Year voting.

Donald was a Pro-Bowler in every single season of his career and made the first-team All-Pro seven times in a row from 2015 to 2021. There is no arguing that Donald is one of the greatest players of all time and certainly of his century.

If he decides to join the Rams alongside Garrett, Los Angeles would arguably field one of the most talented, lethal and disruptive defensive line units the NFL has ever seen.
