The Los Angeles Rams are trading for All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett.

The Rams are sending Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, and additional picks to the Cleveland Browns.

Los Angeles is acquiring one of the best defenders of this decade. Garrett has won the Defensive Player of the Year award twice and recently won the Deacon Jones Award, given to the player who led the league in sacks in the regular season.

The Rams have pulled off yet another blockbuster trade for the premier pass rusher this game has to offer. Los Angeles is doing their best to re-create the magic that it had in 2021, which won them the Lombardi Trophy.

Los Angeles already had all the pieces to make a deep playoff run and be the last team standing in 2026; now, they possess a defensive monster who is well on his way to the Hall of Fame once his career is all said and done.

The Rams were only recently linked to Garrett after the Browns modified the contract of the seven-time Pro Bowler in March. That move shifted key option bonus dates from the 15th day of the league year to seven days before the start of the regular season, a change that could make a potential trade easier to execute.

Prior to the trade, the Browns were adamant that they had no interest in trading their former No. 1 overall pick, and they even told the Rams that, according to sources. However, the Rams were persistent in their pursuit as they continued to call Cleveland.

Talks of Garrett possibly landing in Los Angeles started to heat up after the NFL Draft, and still, the Browns were not budging. However, the Browns finally gave in and said that they would only do the deal if Verse was part of the deal.

The Rams were hesitant at first, but decided to pull the trigger as it meant that they would acquire a future Hall of Famer and the ultimate game wrecker for opposing offenses.

Garrett was eager to play for a contender, and a move to Los Angeles would give him a legitimate chance to pursue the first Super Bowl ring of his career immediately.
