The Los Angeles Rams would possibly need to give up a truckload if they want to acquire this year's No. 1 overall pick.

The 2026 NFL Draft is less than two months away, and the anticipation is at an all-time high.

In this year's draft, the Los Angeles Rams have not one, but two first-round picks. It's the first time they have that luxury since the 2014 NFL Draft, where they used one of the two picks on future Hall of Famer, Aaron Donald.

The Rams have a great track record of drafting talented young players and developing them. L.A. has a chance to do the same thing in this year's draft, and having two first-round picks could land them immediate impact players.

Los Angeles was one game away from representing the NFC in this month's Super Bowl and possibly winning it all. However, they were a mere four points from achieving that goal, losing to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game.

The good news is the Rams still have stability at key positions, particularly at quarterback. Matthew Stafford is coming off an MVP season, and while he may not replicate that performance in 2026, the team is expected to be better from top to bottom.

At 38, Stafford is clearly closer to the twilight of his career than the start. He will return for the 2026 season; however, questions about longevity and workload remain.

If the Rams decide to go a younger route and go for the quarterback of the future, a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders could be on the horizon. The Raiders possess the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

All signs point to the Raiders selecting Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza. However, if the Rams feel like he could be their franchise leader for the next 10+ years, they could offer a massive trade package to ensure Mendoza ends up in horns gear.

What type of package could the Rams construct to land the No. 1 pick?

According to Moe Moton of Bleacher Report, it could look something like Stafford, defensive end Braden Fiske, 2026 first-round pick (No. 13 overall), and their 2027 first-round pick.

Las Vegas is in dire need of a quarterback, and Stafford could provide an immediate turnaround. Meanwhile, the Rams get to reset at the position while keeping the rest of their roster as close to complete as possible.

The Rams have shown no desire to move off of Stafford, and the Raiders are expected to use the No. 1 pick in the draft.

While this trade could theoretically happen, it is highly unlikely. Still, sending Stafford to Las Vegas would be a hugely 2026 season-altering move.

Los Angeles enters 2026 with high expectations, while the Raiders will be searching for even a glimmer of hope this fall.
