The Los Angeles Rams could deliver a new playmaker for superstar quarterback Matthew Stafford.

The Los Angeles Rams are never done improving their roster.

They proved that on Monday when they landed one of the best players in the league, defensive end Myles Garrett. After nine seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Garrett now heads to Los Angeles to help the Rams hoist another Lombardi Trophy.

While that was a huge pickup, it is only the beginning of what the Rams hope to be a long and prosperous season. With that, the Rams may need more help on the offensive side of the ball now.

Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times noted that the Rams may do all they can to get quarterback Matthew Stafford another weapon, given they didn’t do so in the NFL Draft.

"If this season plays out as expected, the Rams could give Stafford another weapon at the trade deadline.”

With the Rams trading for Garrett, they may be unlikely to bolster the offense, given that they traded away their 2027 first-round pick.

On the bright side, that is the only first-round pick the Rams traded away for Garrett, so they still have their 2028 and 2029 picks to trade away if they decide to trade for another star player.

The main focus heading into the 2026 NFL Draft was whether the Rams were going to draft an offensive lineman or a wide receiver. They were linked to a handful of players in that position, but instead, they decided to draft Stafford’s potential successor, Ty Simpson.

The Rams still lack depth at the wide receiver position outside of Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. While that duo established themselves as a premier one, they had nothing else to show for.

Others at that positon like Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith, hardly played a big role. The three of them combined totaled less than 700 yards alone. It's no secret that the passing offense is heavily reliant on Nacua and Adams.

The Rams could also go the free agent route with veteran wide receivers like DeAndre Hopkins, Keenan Allen and Stefon Diggs still available on the open market.

Los Angeles needs a solid WR3 on their roster to take some of the load off Nacua and Adams. Nacua has some injury history, and Adams is 33 years old and struggled with injuries down the stretch of the regular season as well.

The Rams are certainly gambling on that front if they stand pat; however, they have a nice run game and the 13 personnel that they had great success with last season.
