The Los Angeles Rams may be facing a tough secondary depth issue in the Divisional Round, as cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. is questionable to return with a shoulder injury.
The injury incident was not evident, but Forbes may not make it back to the game.
Ahead of the Divisional Round, the Rams released their inactives list, which included cornerback Derion Kendrick. The team had elevated safety Tanner Ingle, but he was also made inactive.
With Forbes currently out, this could pose some problems for this Rams defense, especially in the secondary.
The good news is that Josh Wallace also returned for the Divisional Round after being out due to an ankle injury. He may need to step in with Forbes out.
Currently, the Rams' defense has been holding strong against the high-powered passing attack from Caleb Williams and the Bears. At the time of this writing, the score remains tied at 7-7.
Both teams' defenses have been holding strong in the second quarter, and the Rams' defensive line and pass rush have been a huge factor in stopping the Bears thus far.
Forbes has not yet been ruled out, and being questionable to return does not mean he cannot come back. However, it will be determined by how his shoulder holds up and feels.
Halftime is fast approaching, which could offer the Rams a chance to administer some more treatment to Forbes to potentially get him back on the field for the second half. This is just speculation, as his shoulder injury may or may not be significant.
For now, the Rams may need to use Quentin Lake and the safeties in a new manner to help the fact that two cornerbacks are now out of the game for the Rams.
Kam Curl and Lake are also the kind of duo that can aid in keeping the secondary solid with the injuries that the Rams are dealing with.
