Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead addressed the upcoming contract for star wide receiver Puka Nacua.

Los Angeles Rams superstar wide receiver Puka Nacua has established himself as one of the best at his position.

Nacua is coming off his third season in the league and arguably his best of his career. The 24-year-old is set to only get better after a career year, and if he happens to do so, he will earn a major payday.

Nacua will enter the final year of his current four-year $4.08 million deal that expires after the 2026 season. His current contract is a bargain, but his next one could be one of the most lucrative and reset the market at the wide receiver position.

The Rams realize how important Nacua is to their roster and will do all they can to retain him. General manager Les Snead is well aware of what is to come regarding Nacua.  Earlier in the month, Snead was transparent when discussing Nacua and his looming contract.

"If you're one of the best at what you do and obviously he's evolved into one of the best things, that's a pretty simple contract because it's pretty self-explanatory where you fall in the ecosystem and the hierarchy," Snead said in early February.

Snead expressed optimism that Nacua’s upcoming contract negotiation will result in a mutually beneficial agreement.

"There are also so many variables," Snead said of negotiating this type of contract. "There are other players whose contracts are up. Maybe there are so many variables that go into to that make it more complex than it would seem on the surface level. Similar to a few players we've had in the past that have been at that level in the ecosystem, you have to begin communication and begin working through it to come up with win-win solution."

Nacua is coming off an incredible 2025 campaign. In 16 games, the former BYU Cougar recorded 129 receptions on 166 targets, 1,715 yards, 10 touchdowns, and averaged 13.3 yards per catch and 107.2 yards per game.

He was named a Pro Bowler for the second time in his career, first-team All-Pro and finished third in Offensive Player of the Year voting.

While the Rams have not been historically high-volume spenders, they have been very strategic when it comes to paying high average salaries for players they deem worthy.

Snead and the Rams have a lot on their plate this offseason, but Nacua's looming contract negotiations next offseason will be the team's biggest storyline for the foreseeable future.
