Rams' Latest Myles Garrett Update Leaves Much to Be Desired

The Los Angeles Rams' latest update on superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett didn't answer many questions.

The Los Angeles Rams have been anxiously awaiting the return of superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett. He has been out since Week 1 due to a chronic knee issue.

Garrett was acquired during the NFL offseason in a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns. In order to get him, the Rams gave up young pass rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.

Making that kind of a trade involving so much future draft capital is a major risk. So far, Los Angeles has not gotten much return for giving up so much. That could change the moment Garrett returns to the field.

With that being said, the Rams offered a new update on Garrett after beating the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7. However, the update did not answer many questions.

Head coach Sean McVay was asked for an update about Garrett's status. McVay simply said that he wasn't sure yet at that point in time.

Already this season, the Rams have been slammed with a plethora of injury issues. Outside of Garrett, the team has seen star wide receiver Davante Adams go down with a serious hamstring injury, defensive end Kobie Turner has gone down, defensive tackle Poona Ford is injured, tight end Terrance Ferguson has missed time, kicker Blake Grupe is done for the season, and many more.

Fans don't have to look far to see what kind of impact Garrett could make upon his return to the field.

Last season with the Browns, the 30-year-old star played in 17 games. He racked up 60 total tackles to go along with 23 sacks, three forced fumbles, and a defended pass.

Hopefully, good news comes out about Garrett as this week moves forward. The latest update is a bit frustrating, as nothing new has been shared about his status.

In the meantime, the Rams currently hold a 3-4 record. A season that started with Los Angeles being viewed as a Super Bowl favorite has turned into the Rams trying to stay afloat to simply be a playoff team.

Expect to hear more about Garrett in the near future. For now, it's clear that Los Angeles truly isn't sure when he'll be able to get back to practice and then after that when he can return to game action.

This week, the Rams will take on the Los Angeles Chargers at home. Garrett likely won't be on the field, but a win would go a long way towards helping Los Angeles get back on track.
