Former Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman and champion Andrew Whitworth says that he has been in contact with Aaron Donald since the team traded for Myles Garrett.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Whitworth admitted that he has ‘kept tabs’ on the 35-year-old ever since the Rams traded for superstar defensive end Myles Garrett.

"I've stayed on AD. I shoot him a little text every now and then trying to get a feel,” Whitworth said. "I would love to see it. It'd be super exciting," Whitworth said. "He's going to do what's best for him. I hope he gets some workouts in, and man, I'm hoping he gets the itch because there would be nothing more fun than watching that dude. He is one of the most special humans and players I've ever been around. At the same time, I don't want him to get out there and get hurt, but if he's interested in doing it, I hope he does it. I would love to see it. That's for sure."

While Whitworth is all for the potential return of Donald, he did say that the addition of Garrett, plus what the Rams already have at their disposal, is enough to be the last team standing.

Whitworth’s final season in the NFL was with the Rams in their Super Bowl-winning season in 2021. It was a magical season that saw Los Angeles add superstar talent on both sides of the ball.

This offseason, the Rams have done the same thing, but all on the defensive side of the ball. First, they traded for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie and signed cornerback Jaylen Watson to bolster that position group, which struggled mightily in the back half of last season.

The Rams then went on to shake up the football landscape by trading for Garrett. It was not an easy move as they had to involve Jared Verse in the trade. However, the team couldn’t pass up on adding a future Hall of Famer to their roster, especially at the pass-rush position.

Los Angeles has built a roster that could be a juggernaut this season. The Rams are set to have yet another season where they may be at the top of every offensive category, and now the same could be said on the defensive side.

Whitworth played the final five seasons of his career in Los Angeles. The now 44-year-old arrived at the Rams after 11 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and retired after they won the Lombardi trophy against his former team to cap off the 2021 season.

Whitworth still has a close relationship with Sean McVay and continues to be a staple in the Rams organization and community.
