NFL insider Ian Rapoport linked Pro Bowl quarterback Kyler Murray to the Los Angeles Rams days after being released by the Arizona Cardinals.

The Los Angeles Rams have some pressing roster needs a little less than a week from the start of free agency.

From cornerback to offensive line to wide receivers, L.A. could use some reinforcement in each of those positions. The Rams will look to tighten up those groups in the coming weeks and months.

While they must do so, the least of L.A.'s worries is at the quarterback position. Matthew Stafford will soon enter his 18th season in the league and sixth with the Rams. Barring anything catastrophic, Stafford will be under center for L.A. in 2026.

However, LA. needs to have a reliable backup, as injuries have been a cause for concern for Stafford. With that being the case, the Rams will need to address that position.

Jimmy Garoppolo's future in Los Angeles is unclear as he enters free agency, meaning that it could open the door for the Rams to potentially snag Pro Bowl quarterback Kyler Murray.

Murray's future in the NFL as a starting quarterback is unclear. Due to that fact,  NFL insider Ian Rapoport said the Rams could be the favorites to sign Murray if he accepts a backup role in 2026.

The former No. 1 overall pick is set to be released on March 11, the start of the new season.

He spent seven seasons in the Valley of the Sun and is now set to be a free agent for the first time in his career. Murray has had a tough go over the years. In his career, he's posted a 38-48-1 record as Arizona's starting quarterback.

Murray has shown flashes of brilliance at the start of his career, but his play has regressed over the years.

This past season, Murray only played in five games before being placed on the injured reserve. He posted a 2-3 record while completing 68 percent of his passes, along with six touchdowns and three interceptions.

Murray in L.A. could be what he needs to get his career back on track. If the Rams choose to pursue the former Oklahoma Sooner, he'd immediately become a viable backup.

On top of that, he'd be behind the league MVP, head coach Sean McVay, and assistant head coach Kliff Kingsbury, Murray's former head coach.

There are ties in L.A. for Murray, and it'd soon become apparent if the Rams want him to don the horns in 2026.

Murray has thrown for over 20,000 yards in his career and 121 touchdowns to 60 interceptions.
