The Los Angeles Rams have lost wide receiver Tutu Atwell to the Miami Dolphins.

The Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Tutu Atwell has found a new home.

Atwell has signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. ESPN's Adam Schefter shared the news via X.

After five seasons in Los Angeles, the 26-year-old will don a new uniform in 2026.

The Rams drafted Atwell in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. It was a surprising choice back then, and it's been a questionable decision by Los Angeles since then. Atwell was never able to find his footing with the horns. He'd have very few flashes in his tenure as a Ram, but nothing ever materialized after that.

It was evident that head coach Sean McVay and the Rams did not see Atwell as a key contributor. His future with the team had been uncertain leading into free agency, and the organization has now made it clear that he is no longer part of their plans.

Atwell will now look to make a name for himself with the Dolphins. Miami is heading in the opposite direction compared to the Rams. Los Angeles is looking to go all-in in 2026, while the Dolphins are in rebuild mode under a new regime.

In 2025, the former Louisville Cardinal only played in 10 games with four starts and tallied six catches on 15 targets for 192 yards and one touchdown. He recorded career lows across the board and did not play a snap in the Rams' three playoff games.

Atwell's time in Los Angeles was one to forget. He has tallied 105 receptions for 1,535 receiving yards, five touchdowns and averaged 24 receiving yards per game. Atwell played in 64 games as a Ram and started in 27 games.

Los Angeles needs a significant upgrade at their No. 3 wide receiver spot. While the future of Davante Adams remains somewhat uncertain, whether the team keeps him or replaces him with a younger option, they would still be in a solid position.

The Rams’ in-house options—led by Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield, and Xavier Smith—are promising, but to elevate their offense to the next level, L.A. may need to look beyond the roster.

The draft presents the perfect opportunity to add an impact pass-catcher to bolster the position group. With the No. 13 overall pick, the Rams could select a wide receiver capable of providing a major boost.

If Los Angeles wants to give Matthew Stafford another weapon and complement Puka Nacua, general manager Les Snead and McVay will have plenty of options to consider.
