The Los Angeles Rams have two players who have made the "Madden NFL 2027" 99 club ahead of the 2026 season.
Ahead of the 2026 season, the Los Angeles Rams now have another accolade under their belt. While they have the reigning MVP and Defensive Player of the Year on the team, both Matthew Stafford and Myles Garrett have also received more than just their respective end-of-season awards.
"Madden NFL 2027" is set to hit shelves on Aug. 13, and both Stafford and Garrett have been added to the sought-after "99 Club." This club is reserved for the top players in the league, and their video game counterparts represent the highest ranking that can be achieved.
The contemporary "Madden" games have integrated real-life stats into its system, so players who currently play in the NFL are represented in a significant manner in the video game world as well.
It makes sense as to why Stafford received a 99 ranking in the current iteration of the football video game, due to his winning his first league MVP for the 2025 season. The Rams signal caller led the league with 4,707 passing yards, 46 touchdowns, a 7.7 touchdown-to-interception percentage, and a 276.9 yards per game average.
Garrett also makes sense, considering he broke the single-season sack record in 2025, bringing in 23. He is also arguably the best pass rusher in the league and joined Los Angeles after a shocking blockbuster trade occurred at the start of June.
An odd omission appears to be receiver Puka Nacua. Rival and Seattle Seahawks pass catcher Jaxson Smith-Njigba was added to the 99 Club, as was Cincinnati Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase.
Nacua had more yardage and touchdowns than Chase, but was left out of the club. He could very well achieve that ranking as the regular season progresses.
Either way, the "Madden NFL 2027" game has recognized two of the best players at their respective positions.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Rams, as the team mostly stayed intact through free agency. The only player lost was Jared Verse, who was sent to the Cleveland Browns as part of the trade for Garrett.
Additionally, the Rams also traded for former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie, while also signing his teammate in Jaylen Watson.
With a rebuilt secondary and a player like Garrett, the Rams are the favorites to make it all the way to the Super Bowl. Despite sportsbooks betting that is the case, a lot still needs to go right for that to happen.
There is also the chance that Aaron Donald may end his retirement to play alongside Garrett, which could very well change the dynamics of the team and defense yet again.
Either way, this Rams team is set up in a way to play well into January.
