The Los Angeles Rams have been named a possible destination for a trade candidate on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Los Angeles Rams are currently in a good place when it comes to their roster. However, there are always areas that could be improved.

One potential question mark at this point in time comes at the quarterback position. Matthew Stafford is the clear-cut starter with Ty Simpson as his backup. Are the Rams comfortable with Simpson being the primary backup to begin the 2026 season?

Should the answer to that question be no, Los Angeles will need to move quickly to find another option.

Keeping that in mind, one potential trade candidate has come up. Pro Football Focus analyst Bradley Locker has named Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph as a player to watch on the trade market.

"After the Steelers selected nearby prospect Drew Allar in the third round, it leaves the team with Rodgers, Allar, Rudolph and Will Howard in its quarterback room," Locker wrote. "It seems unlikely that all four will be retained, and Mike McCarthy very well may opt for a youth movement behind Rodgers."

Following Locker's take on Rudolph, Mike Moraitis of The Sporting News has suggested the Rams as a potential landing spot for the Steelers' quarterback.

"The Rams are one of those teams," Moraitis wrote. "Los Angeles drafted Ty Simpson and has Stetson Bennett, but Jimmy Garoppolo could retire and that would leave the Super Bowl contender in need of a veteran behind Matthew Stafford."

Rudolph has been a solid NFL quarterback throughout his career. He would be worth taking a look at if Los Angeles wants a veteran option behind Stafford.

Last season with Pittsburgh, Rudolph ended up playing in five games. He completed 73.1 percent of his passes for 310 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Back in the 2024 season with the Tennessee Titans, Rudolph played in eight games. He threw for 1,530 yards, nine touchdowns, and nine interceptions, while completing 64 percent of his passes and running for 106 yards and another touchdown.

While there is no guarantee that the Rams even have interest in adding another quarterback, Rudolph has been suggested as a name who could make sense.
