The Los Angeles Rams have placed Darious Williams on the reserved/retired list, which ends his career in the NFL.

The Los Angeles Rams have officially placed cornerback Darious Williams on the reserved/retired list.

Williams walks away from the NFL after playing eight seasons, six of which were with the Rams.

Initially, the cornerback was signed by the Baltimore Ravens in 2018 after going undrafted. After appearing in one game, he was waived by the Ravens, leading to being claimed by Los Angeles.

The rest of the 2018 season was a bit rough, as Williams remained a healthy scratch for 10 games. In 2019, he began to see more action, appearing in 12 games, and starting in three.

The 2020 season would be a breakout one, as Williams would pick up four interceptions, 14 passes defended, and 44 total tackles. The 2021 season was similar as he brought in nine passes defended and 72 total tackles.

Following Williams' emergence, he would sign a three-year, $30 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, ending his time with the Rams.

Williams posted another great season in 2023 with the Jaguars, bringing in four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and 53 total tackles. However,  he would be released in March 2024, leading to his reunion with the Rams.

Los Angeles offered Williams a  three–year, $22.50 million deal, reuniting him with the Rams.

Williams has remained on the roster, most recently in 2025, appearing in 12 games and starting three. He secured one interception, eight passes defended, and 25 total tackles.

Williams ends his career with 12 interceptions, 77 passes defended, two forced fumbles, and 306 total tackles. He also gave up a 53.7 completion percentage and 77.5 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks, while giving up 15 touchdowns.

Williams defied the odds in football by playing his heart out from a D-III college to going undrafted and signing with the Ravens. Despite having to battle for a starting jo, he did just that.

Williams would work his way to not only winning a starting job, but he would find himself on a championship squad, helping the Rams to a Super Bowl win in 2021.

Following his big contract from the Jaguars, he would end his career with the team that gave him the biggest chance. Clearly, Williams did not have the easiest career path, but he made the most of it.

The Rams also sent a thank you to Williams on social media.
