Where the Los Angeles Rams sit in the power rankings after their Week 3 loss.
The Los Angeles Rams dropped a big loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night, as the team could not close out the Broncos in the fourth quarter.
Despite a questionable pass interference call on Josh Wallace that may have ended the game, the Rams are now sitting at 1-2 to start this season.
Here is where they sit in national power rankings after their rough 2026 start.
The Athletic - No. 8
The Athletic has the Rams dropping from No. 5 to No. 8. The ranking stipulates that Matthew Stafford is the only player in history to have 20,000 passing yards for two teams, which is impressive.
What is not impressive was the pick-six that helped to basically doom Los Angeles in the Broncos' loss. Is it time to panic? Definitely not, but the Rams have a lot to clean up.
ESPN - No. 7
Similar to The Athletic, the Rams have dropped from No. 5 to No. 7 in ESPN's rankings. Longtime beat writer Sarah Bishop notes that not having Puka Nacua in the lineup has clearly impacted the offense.
Nacua is expected to be back for Week 4, and he could be the factor that may help Los Angeles get over the hump of this close loss to the Broncos.
Yahoo Sports - No. 6
Yahoo Sports sees the Rams dropping two spots from No. 4 to No. 6.
Yahoo makes mention of the loss of both Myles Garrett and Puka Nacua being a big factor, and that makes perfect sense. Both are game-changes and are both dealing with significant injuries.
Still, the Rams played a sloppy game, and 13 penalties did them no favors.
NFL.com - No. 13
NFL.com has the Rams plummeting from No. 8 down to No. 13.
The inconsistencies of the Rams' Week 1 loss to Week 2 win to Week 3 are something that NFL.com says needs to be solved quickly.
With Los Angeles taking on several potential playoff contenders in the coming weeks, they cannot afford to lose many more games without being in danger of missing out on the postseason entirely.
The Verdict
The Rams may have two tough losses under their belt, but they are still viewed as a top-10 team in the league. Even without Nacua in the lineup, Los Angeles nearly took home the win against the Broncos, who are also a tough team.
The defense held Denver to no points until the third-quarter 16-point swing came. Stafford and the offense have to fight through whatever growing pains they may have, as does the defense.
If they do not, they are in for a long season due to their very tough schedule.
