The dates for the Los Angeles Rams training camp have been set.
NFL communications have announced that the Rams rookies and veterans will report to training camp at Loyal Marymount University on July 25.
Rams senior staff writer Stu Jackson shared the news via X.
The NFL announced several other key dates for the Rams during training camp, including joint practices with the Dallas Cowboys on Aug.11 and the New Orleans Saints on Aug. 20.
The joint practice against the Saints comes two days before their preseason match that will be at SoFi Stadium.
Those sessions against these NFC counterparts could prove to be vital for a team with high expectations as they prepare to get their feet wet ahead of the 2026 season.
The Rams' arrival at training camp will be exactly three weeks before their first preseason match. Los Angeles will face the Kansas City Chiefs on the road in that matchup.
Los Angeles will play their third and fourth stringers most of the time, as they have set a trend of not playing their starters during the preseason. Sean McVay and the Rams are credited with pioneering the modern NFL trend of resting starting players throughout the preseason.
When McVay took over in 2017, the standard was to give starters a few series in the first exhibition game and eventually build up the starters by the final preseason game. However, he has settled on sitting all key starters to prioritize health.
There are a handful of people and ex-players who are against this strategy; however, more often than not, it has benefitted the Rams in a major way.
The Rams have been uber aggressive this offseason, prioritizing a win-now approach that has the potential to benefit them in a major way. Los Angeles currently sits as the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl.
Los Angeles traded for star defenders and All-Pros, cornerback Trent McDuffie and defensive end Myles Garrett. Those two additions are set to bolster their defense massively, adding to what the Rams have already built with Chris Shula leading the way.
As for the offense, it’s as potent and efficient as it can be. Led by reigning MVP Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, and an above-average unit in the offensive line, the Rams have all they need to be at the top of every offensive category once again in 2026.
McVay and the Rams are expected to be the last team standing, and anything other than that outcome will be considered a disappointment.
