The Los Angeles Rams have made multiple roster moves, including announcing that offensive lineman Justin Dedich has passed his physical and signing Stephon Gilmore's younger brother.
The Los Angeles Rams have kicked off the final week of preseason by announcing several roster moves.
Per the team's official site, offensive lineman Justin Dedich has now passed his physical. This is huge news for the lineman, who started training camp on the NIR (non-football injury) list due to an accident that occurred on the Fourth of July.
Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed that Dedich's injury would not be long-term, and he will now presumably return to practice. Also considering the injury to Keagen Trost, this also gives Los Angeles a big depth piece.
David Quessenberry is expected to be the team's top backup swing tackle, and Dedich could not be added as another strong depth lineman piece should injuries occur.
Considering the Rams still do not know what may happen with Alaric Jackson, having depth on the line will be ultra important, so getting Dedich back to practice ahead of the start of the regular season is big.
Rams Additional Roster Moves
Dedich passing his physical was just one of the many roster moves that the Rams made.
Linebacker Daniel Rickert was waived with an injury settlement.
Cornerback Zech McPhearson was added to the reserved/injured list, as was linebacker Keir Thomas II.
Thomas suffered a groin injury during the second preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, and it appears that he will now be on IR to start the regular season.
McPhearson had just been signed in early August, and has now landed on injured reserve.
In corresponding moves, the Rams also signed cornerback Steven Gilmore and linebacker Devean Deal. Gilmore is the younger brother of Stephon Gilmore.
Gilmore began his career with the Detroit Lions when he signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2023. After spending the season there, he joined the UFL as a member of the Birmingham Stallions in 2024, leading to a stint on the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad, and then with the Stallions again in 2026.
Gilmore played in 10 games with the Stallions in 2026, picking up one interception, 33 total tackles, and five pass breakups.
Deal joined the Seattle Seahawks as a UDFA in 2026, following his collegiate career with TCU. As a member of the Horned Frogs, he secured 99 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and eight sacks.
Deal was waived by the Seahawks in May, but now joins the Rams roster in the final weak of preseason action.
