The Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints are battling in SoFi Stadium in Week 2 of the preseason, and in the third quarter Rams superfan and actress Brenda Song will be making her debut as a color commentator.
The Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints are matching up today in SoFi Stadium during the second week of the preseason, which will see several players from both teams battling for roster spots and securing their place on the depth chart. However, one of the more interesting storylines for this game might not even come on the field; it may instead come from the booth.
The storyline in question is Rams superfan and actress Brenda Song being set to make her debut as a color commentator in the booth during the third quarter of this matchup between the Rams and the Saints.
When Song does get in the booth for the third quarter, she will join Rob Havenstein, Jourdan Rodrigue, and J.B. Long to give her insight on this game and demonstrate her NFL knowledge.
In terms of Song's previous experience in a setting like this, she actually played a part in the Rams 2025 schedule release, which was able to put her knowledge of the NFL on display and give her an opportunity to earn a chance to be in a booth just like she is doing today.
Now, when Song is in the booth, it will be very interesting to hear what topics are discussed, and with her being a Rams superfan and consistently putting her knowledge on display, she should have plenty of opinions to discuss.
In terms of Song's fandom, she has shown her Rams knowledge on a variety of occasions, including an appearance in an ESPN interview where she talked about adjustments she would make for the defense when they lost a few seasons ago against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Song also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, talking about her knowledge of Chris Shula and the defense, as well as how she has been able to teach her children how to root for the Rams.
Both public appearances for Song showcase her strong knowledge of the Rams, especially on the defensive side, but also her passion for the NFL and how important it truly is to her, because she also brings her family along with her as she follows the Rams.
When Song does get in a booth, she could talk about a variety of things including the battle between rookie quarterback Ty Simpson and veteran quarterback Stetson Bennett IV for the backup quarterback job and who she thinks could win the job.
Other topics that she could discuss include the overwhelming talent on this Rams roster, the high expectations that the media and the fans have for this team based on the talent, and the tremendous coaching that Sean McVay and this coaching staff consistently show.
Regardless of what Song does talk about, her take on the NFL is definitely something worth tuning into, and if her debut goes well, she could potentially find herself in a booth for a regular-season game in the future.
