Rams to face Bears in Divisional Round of the playoffs cover image

The Los Angeles Rams will take on the Chicago Bears in the divisional round of the playoffs.

After the San Francisco 49ers beat the Philadelphia Eagles, the next round of the playoffs for the Divisional Round has been set. The Los Angeles Rams will face the Chicago Bears next.

Had the 49ers lost, the Rams would have been the lowest remaining seed and would have been the one to take on the Seattle Seahawks. That was not the case, and Los Angeles and Chicago will meet next.

The good news is the Rams do not have to play the surging Seahawks, especially after the team got a week's rest as the No. 1 seed. However, the Bears were able to come back against the Green Bay Packers and advance.

Chicago poses a big threat due to the unpredictable nature of Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson's offense. De'Andre Swift can get chunk yardage, while the team also throws in designed runs for DJ Moore as well.

That is not to mention Luther Burden III and Rome Odunze, who are also solid pass catchers.

The Rams will have the benefit of the Bears' pass rush not being the best. If they can get the run game going against Chicago, they can see a lot of success and make it to the NFC Championship.

Los Angeles did start strong, securing a quick touchdown in the first quarter against the Carolina Panthers, but they began to stall after that. The Rams were able to pull off the fourth-quarter touchdown to seal the win, but the Bears can do the same thing.

Williams and company have pulled off multiple fourth-quarter comebacks during the regular season, and now in the postseason.

The Rams will not be able to afford a slow start or to play catch-up against this Bears team. They need to get Kyren Williams and Blake Corum going early, while mixing in the dangerous passing game behind Davante Adams and Puka Nacua.

Adams and Nacua both had some uncharacteristic drops in the Panthers game, which is something they will need to clean up before they take on the Bears.

Either way, the Rams and Bears matchup should prove to be an exciting one.
