Los Angeles Rams star cornerback Trent McDuffie is elated to have a player like Myles Garrett wreaking havoc on opposing offenses.

The Los Angeles Rams have a video game-like roster heading into the 2026 season, which was vastly improved by the addition of Myles Garrett

Los Angeles landed Garrett in a blockbuster trade last week in a move that is sure to bolster the defense and the team as a whole. His addition could make waves in the already improved Rams defense, and cornerback Trent McDuffie spoke about the impact it could have on the secondary.

"I think it adds a lot of pressure to the offense, which as a defensive player I love. You always say offense is attacking us, but now I feel like we get to flip the script when you have a pass rusher like Myles Garrett because he can do a lot of great things that cause a lot of problems for that O-line."

"For a back end, it allows us to play fast, allows us to play free and really just allows for us to go make plays on the ball which is what everybody wants."

Garrett is often double-teamed in defensive situations, which could open up the rest of the unit to also make an impact. With Braden Fiske, Poona Ford, and Kobie Turner there to get inside, opposing offenses will have a tough time handling all of that firepower.

The same can be said for the secondary, which contains McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, both of whom are solid run stoppers and pass rushers themselves.

Garrett commands constant attention from opposing offenses and rightfully so, given his elite production. He has recorded 14-plus sacks in five consecutive seasons from 2021 to 2024, a level of consistency that currently stands as an NFL record.

The 30-year-old superstar has established himself as the best pass rusher in the game, and that was during his time with the Cleveland Browns. Garrett and the Browns trailed in most games, which didn’t give him enough opportunities to rush the passer, and yet he still managed to put up monster numbers.

The Rams' offense is also one of the best in the league, meaning it will allow Garrett more chances and the defense to put the pressure on opposing offenses. Should both units work in tandem, this team will be tough to stop.

Garrett is coming off a season in which he set the NFL single-season sack record, recording 23. The Texas native has multiple individual accolades under his belt; now, he has a great chance to get the ring to add to his already stacked resume.
