The Los Angeles Rams bounced back in a big way against the New York Giants, as the team moved to 1-1 on the season with a 28-6 final score. Both the offense and defense looked potent, and there was not much the Giants could do.
With a big win and a reminder of why the Rams have been mentioned as a Super Bowl favorite, here is where they stand in the Week 3 power rankings.
NFL.com - No. 8
NFL.com has oddly seen the Rams drop from No. 7 to No. 8, despite their win. A reason for this is the loss of defensive end Myles Garrett and wide receiver Puka Nacua.
Nacua may be back for Week 3, though head coach Sean McVay indicated he is unsure about that just yet. Garrett will be out for longer than a month, which definitely puts a damper on this team's overall power.
Yahoo Sports - No. 4
Yahoo Sports sees Los Angeles remaining in the top five, with no change from the No. 4 position from Week to Week 3.
Yahoo Sports made mention of Matthew Stafford looking like his younger self, which was true. He tossed 327 yards and four touchdowns, and looked to be the same player who won his first league MVP in 2025.
ESPN - No. 5
ESPN has the Rams falling down one spot from No. 4 to No. 5.
Sarah Bishop spoke about the idea that Los Angeles feels their performance against the Giants is what should be expected of them. Even without Nacua, the team put together a highly impressive performance.
The Athletic - No. 5
The Athletic has the Rams jumping up one spot from No. 6 to No. 5
The Athletic mentions that Los Angeles may still have made a mistake by taking Ty Simpson in the first round, as the team needs a strong receiver opposite Adams. While that might be true, Adams and tight end Terrance Ferguson did more than enough to show why Nacua was given an extra rest day.
The Verdict
There is still a strong belief that the Rams are a top-five team in the league, and rightfully so. McVay's hilarious quip about being the reason the team lost in Week 1 was probably the right thing to say.
Whether or not the travel plan backfired, this Rams team was far different and could have theoretically played much better or beaten the 49ers in Week 1. Either way, Los Angeles will continue on to Week 3, where they will face the Denver Broncos.
