Several Rams players miss practice for second straight day cover image

Several Los Angeles Rams players have been given a DNP status for the Wild Card matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

The Los Angeles Rams are heading into the Wild Card Round of the playoffs, and they could be without several key players for the matchup. The latest injury report has been released for the team, with multiple players missing practice for a second straight day.

The injury report was shared by Adam Grosbard, which details multiple players missing a second consecutive practice.

Among the names are offensive lineman Kevin Dotson. Dotson has been nursing an ankle injury that sidelined him for the Week 18 regular season finale, and that ankle injury is clearly not healed.

Dotson missing a second straight practice does not bode well for his availability for the Panthers' playoff matchup.

Wide receiver Jordan Whittington has also missed a second straight practice. After injuring his knee in the Arizona Cardinals game, he did not make it back to the contest, and he may also miss Saturday's game.

Rams head coach Sean McVay indicated that tight end Terrance Ferguson was expected to play on Saturday, but his hamstring injury is proving to be a bit more significant. He was added to the injury report late ahead of Week 18 and was subsequently ruled out.

Hamstring injuries can often be tricky and linger for multiple weeks, so his second missed practice led to another missed game. The good news is that with Ferguson out, Tyler Higbee returned in a big way, pulling in 91 yards and a touchdown.

Cornerback Josh Wallace continues to suffer from an ankle injury, and he has also missed practice. Wallace is unlikely to play in the game.

Braden Fiske and Higbee were both limited with an ankle injury, but the expectation is that they will both play.

Davante Adams and Quentin Lake were both full, and McVay indicated previously that they would be ready to play in the playoffs.

Cornerback Darious Williams missed practice, but for a personal reason. His status for the game should not be in doubt.

With a crucial matchup ahead with the Panthers, the hope for the Rams would be that Dotson can be upgraded to limited on the final day of practice. Should he miss another day, he will likely be ruled out.

The same can be said for Ferguson. The good news is that the Rams are very set at the tight end position with Higbee and Parkinson both playing a major part in the offensive plan.
