The Seattle Seahawks locked up the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and this is what it means for the Los Angeles Rams.

Following the Los Angeles Rams' loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17, the team was still in a position to land the fifth or sixth seed in the playoffs.

The sure-fire way to land the fifth seed is to beat the Arizona Cardinals in the regular season finale, which can occur on Sunday. Even with a final win, the Rams would need a little bit of help, and that is exactly what they got.

With the Seattle Seahawks taking down the San Francisco 49ers and securing the top seed in the NFC, this gives the Rams the chance to jump into the fifth seed.

The difference between landing the fifth or staying at the sixth seed for the Rams is who they will face in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

Should the Rams beat the Cardinals, they will jump into the fifth seed and face the winner of the NFC South. That will either be the Carolina Panthers or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, depending on how the game ends between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons.

If the Rams lose to the Cardinals, they will remain the sixth seed and play either the Chicago Bears or the Philadelphia Eagles, also depending on how Week 18 transpires for both teams.

Any team that enters the playoffs is dangerous, but the NFC South division has been up-and-down in 2025, and it would likely work out better for the Rams if they were to land the fifth seed in the playoffs.

Rams head coach Sean McVay indicated that seeding would have no impact on starters playing in the finale, but it sounds like everyone healthy is set to play in the final game of the regular season.

Running back Blake Corum and wide receiver Davante Adams remain questionable, but Kevin Dotson and Josh Wallace have already been ruled out. Kyren Williams is also questionable, but McVay indicated he would be suitingup in the finale.

The Rams are likely seeking a momentum-changing win after losing to the Falcons in Week 17. Some coaches do not prefer to rest starters due to missing a step when the playoffs come around.

For McVay, it appears he was more upset at the loss in Week 17, so he instantly said starters would play in his post-game press conference. Either way, the Rams still have much to play for in their season finale against the Cardinals.
