The Los Angeles Rams' head coach, Sean McVay, has a chance to be an NFL coaching legend.

Since Sean McVay took over as the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams back in the 2017 NFL season, he has taken the league by storm. He has built the franchise into a yearly contender and has long been mentioned as one of the top head coaches in the NFL.

At 40 years old, McVay should still have a long coaching future ahead of him. There have been rumblings that he could step away from coaching in the near future, but has continued to lead the charge for the Rams.

McVay has compiled a 95-61 overall record in regular season for Los Angeles. He has also guided the Rams to a 10-6 record in the postseason and a Super Bowl win back in the 2021 campaign.

All of that being said, where does McVay rank on the NFL head coach Mt. Rushmore?

Newsweek's Jordan Sigler took a look at that conversation. He listed Andy Reid, Bill Belichick, Mike Shanahan, and Tom Coughlin as his "best of all-time" options. McVay came in on the next tier, which was titled "Current Coaches Who Have a Chance to Make the List."

Other coaches included in the same tier as McVay were New York Giants coach John Harbaugh, San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, and Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton.

Los Angeles is certainly hoping to see McVay stick around long-term. The rumors of him stepping away to focus on family life have become quite loud in recent years.

Despite the rumors, the Rams remain led by arguably the best coach currently in the NFL. He has one of the brightest minds in football. With him on the sideline, Los Angeles can never be counted out.

Should McVay continue coaching for years to come, Sigler's analysis clearly shows that he could become one of the best to ever do it. He is already approaching that territory.

This season, the Rams have been hit with more than their fair share of injury problems. After beating the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7 action, Los Angeles now holds a 3-4 record.

There is obviously still work for McVay and company to do, but the Rams should not be counted out.

Next up for Los Angeles will be a November 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers at home. McVay will look to lead his team back to .500 and force the Rams back into contender conversation.
