The Los Angeles Rams could take a chance on Texas A&M star wide receiver KC Concepcion due to their unpredictability when it comes to the draft.
The Los Angeles Rams hold a highly coveted 13th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Rams could go a multitude of ways with that pick, and many experts predict they will choose an elite wide receiver at 13. Los Angeles doesn't have many glaring roster weaknesses; however, a wide receiver could take the team and the offense to another level.
A pass catcher is certainly in the cards for the Rams as they've been linked to USC's Makai Lemon and Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson. However, one pass catcher they could very well go after is Texas A&M's KC Concepcion.
Concepcion is projected to be a late first-round pick, which exactly doesn't fit with the Rams' 13th pick; however, one thing Los Angeles is not is predictable. The Rams are arguably the most unpredictable team in the league when it comes to the draft.
The No. 13 pick is probably too rich for Concepcion; nonetheless, there is no arguing the fit in the Rams system. Under head coach Sean McVay, Concepcion checks a ton of boxes that could benefit both sides.
Concepcion is a precision route runner, has great yards after the catch ability, and is versatile, as he is able to line up inside or outside the numbers. On top of that, the 21-year-old is quick and sharp with his routes, dangerous with the ball in his hand and fits the "get open fast and create after the catch" mold.
The New York native is a quarterback-friendly target, meaning he has the ability to be where he's supposed to be, when he's supposed to be there, which will benefit the offense, including Matthew Stafford.
While Concepcion is a great fit for the Rams, it might take some decent draft capital for Los Angeles to trade down. A number of factors could play a role in making that happen, including not loving the board at 13, missing out on a wide receiver with a higher ceiling like Lemon or Tyson and seeing a cluster of similarly graded players.
If the Rams were to trade down between the 18-28 range, that's when selecting Concepcion would make a ton of sense for Los Angeles.
Nothing can be ruled out when it comes to the Rams. With Los Angeles, they value fit over hype; in addition, they've taken "unexpected" players before when the fit made sense.
The fit is excellent for the Rams, but at No. 13, it’s unlikely he’ll be the pick. The more realistic path to landing Concepcion would be to trade down.
